System-wide coherence The General Assembly, Recalling the 2005 World Summit Outcome, 1 0F Recalling also its resolution 62/277 of 15 September 2008, setting out five areas for consideration by Member States with a view to enhancing United Nations system-wide coherence, Recalling further its resolution 63/311 of 14 September 2009, Reaffirming the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, 2 the outcome of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly, 3 the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women 4 and international law, in particular international human rights and humanitarian law, 1F 2F 3F Reaffirming also its resolution 62/208 of 19 December 2007 on the triennial comprehensive policy review of operational activities for development of the United Nations system, Reaffirming further its resolution 2 (I) of 1 February 1946, Reaffirming that the fundamental characteristics of the operational activities for development of the United Nations system should be, inter alia, their universal, voluntary and grant nature, their neutrality and their multilateralism, Reaffirming also the key importance of national ownership and national leadership, and underscoring the fact that there is no “one size fits all” approach to development and that development assistance by the United Nations development system should be able to respond to the varying demands of programme countries _______________ * Reissued for technical reasons on 13 September 2010. 1 See resolution 60/1. 2 Report of the Fourth World Conference on Women, Beijing, 4–15 September 1995 (United Nations publication, Sales No. E.96.IV.13), chap.
