Summary
The Special Rapporteur provides an overview of her activities and focuses her
thematic report on challenges and lessons learned in combating slavery. Based on the
Special Rapporteur’s observations from the numerous activities carried out while
performing her mandate, the Special Rapporteur highlights various challenges that need to
be addressed in order to combat contemporary forms of slavery. The Special Rapporteur
also puts forward recommendations for Governments, United Nations agencies and civil
society organizations to tackle these challenges.
