Seconded active-duty military and police personnel
The General Assembly,
Recalling its resolutions 67/287 of 28 June 2013, 68/252 of 27 December 2013
and 71/263 of 23 December 2016,
Having considered the note by the Secretary-General on seconded active-duty
military and police personnel 1 and the related report of the Advisory Committee on
Administrative and Budgetary Questions, 2
1.
Takes note of the note by the Secretary-General; 1
2.
Endorses the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report of
the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, 2 subject to the
provisions of the present resolution;
3.
Expresses serious regret that the Secretary-General has not been able to
identify solutions for addressing the conflicts between national legislation and the
staff regulations and rules of the United Nations regarding the secondment of active duty military and police personnel since 2013;
4.
Requests the Secretary-General to intensify his efforts to engage with
Member States and explore all viable options to resolve the conflicts, and to report
on the development of the matter and present his proposals to address the conflicts to
the General Assembly at the first part of its resumed seventy-fourth session;
5.
Takes note of paragraph 11 of the report of the Advisory Committee, and,
with a view to identifying solutions to conflicts between national legislation and the
