Technology-facilitated gender-based violence The Human Rights Council, Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Reaffirming the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and other relevant international and regional human rights instruments, Reaffirming also the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and the outcome documents of their review conferences, Recalling all relevant Human Rights Council and General Assembly resolutions on accelerating efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls, and relevant agreed conclusions of the Commission on the Status of Women, in which, inter alia, the Commission affirmed that, to achieve gender equality, all forms of violence against all women and girls must be prevented, condemned and eliminated and that equal access to justice for women and girls and accountability for violations of their human rights must be ensured, Recalling also all other relevant Human Rights Council resolutions, including resolutions 38/5 of 5 July 2018 on preventing and responding to violence against women and girls in digital contexts, 44/15 of 17 July 2020 on business and human rights, 50/15 of 8 July 2022 on freedom of opinion and expression, 51/10 of 6 October 2022 on countering cyberbullying, 53/29 of 14 July 2023 on new and emerging digital technologies and human rights, 54/21 of 12 October 2023 on the right to privacy in the digital age and 55/10 of 3 April 2024 on the role of States in countering the negative impact of disinformation on the enjoyment and realization or human rights, Recalling further the commitment to eliminate all forms of violence and discrimination against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, occurring online GE.24-13023 (E)
