both the national and international levels, has a pivotal role to play in the
implementation of the key objectives of the United Nations Millennium
Declaration, 1
1.
Welcomes the establishment of the United Nations Public Administration
Online Network as a powerful tool made available to Member States for the

particular developing countries and countries with economies in transition, upon

coordination of development assistance in this field;
4.
Also requests the Secretary-General to study the possibility of
periodically bringing together high-level policy makers responsible for public
administration reform, under the auspices of the United Nations, to discuss issues of
common interest and share valuable experience and practice, and to report to the
General Assembly at its fifty-seventh session on the results of that study;
5.
Further requests the Secretary-General to keep under constant review the
developments in this field in Member States and to highlight changes and trends as
well as successes in this area, with particular emphasis on the role of public
