- Welcomes the attention given by the Committee on the Rights of the Child, when considering the reports of States parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, to the subject of the rights of children with physical or mental disabilities to enjoy their lives with dignity and to their individual development and social integration, as well as the general debate on this issue, starting at the sixteenth session of the Committee in 1997, focused on the rights to life and development, self-representation and full participation and the right to an inclusive education, with the aim of preparing recommendations for the effective implementation of the Convention, and invites the Committee to continue its task in cooperation with the representatives of the relevant United Nations bodies and organizations, non-governmental organizations and the Special Rapporteur on disability of the Commission for Social Development;
