Report of the Committee for Development Planning: general review of the list of the least developed countries The General Assembly, Recalling its resolutions 45/206 of 21 December 1990 and 46/206 of 20 December 1991, Taking note of Economic and Social Council decision 1994/225 of 14 July 1994 on the report of the Committee for Development Planning on its twentyninth session, 1/ in which the Council decided to transmit the recommendations contained in chapter V, section B, of that report to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session for approval, Noting with concern the increase in the number of least developed countries, particularly in Africa, and underlining the importance of the creation of a conducive international economic environment for the growth and development of developing countries, particularly the least developed countries, Recognizing that the decision to include any country in the group of least developed countries should be made with that country’s due consent, 1.
