Consolidating gains and accelerating efforts to control and eliminate malaria in developing countries, particularly in Africa, by 2030 The General Assembly, Reaffirming the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, 1 including the resolve of Member States to eliminate malaria by 2030, and the Addis Ab aba Action Agenda of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, 2 Recalling that the period 2001–2010 was proclaimed by the General Assembly as the Decade to Roll Back Malaria in Developing Countries, Particularly in Africa, 3 and that combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis and other diseases is included in the internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals, Recalling also its resolution 69/325 of 11 September 2015 and all previous resolutions concerning the struggle against malaria in developing countries, particularly in Africa, Recalling further World Health Assembly resolutions 60.18 of 23 May 2007 and 64.17 of 24 May 2011, urging a broad range of national and international actions to scale up malaria control programmes, 4 resolution 61.18 of 24 May 2008 on monitoring the achievement of health-related Millennium Development Goals 5 and resolution 68.2 of 22 May 2015 on the global technical strategy and targets for malaria 2016–2030, 6 Taking note of the high-level meeting on antimicrobial resistance, to be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 21 September 2016, _______________ 1 Resolution 70/1.
