A/68/262 Report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders Summary The present report is the sixth and last report submitted by the current Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders to the General Assembly, in accordance with Assembly resolution 66/164 and Human Rights Council resolution 16/5. Section I of the report contains an introduction. In section II, the Special Rapporteur provides an initial assessment of her achievements, based on the vision she presented to the Assembly in 2008. In section III, she looks at the relationship between large-scale development projects and the activities of human rights defenders. In section IV, she sets out a human rights-based approach to development projects that she believes will allow for the meaningful and safe participation of human rights defenders at all stages of development projects. In section V, she provides conclusions and makes recommendations to various stakeholders, including in the context of the post-2015 development agenda. 2/24 13-41811
