A/RES/70/235 Oceans and the law of the sea consideration and review of developments relating to ocean affairs and the law of the sea by the General Assembly as the global institution having the competence to undertake such a review; 326. Notes that the report referred to in paragraph 324 above will also be submitted to States Parties pursuant to article 319 of the Convention regarding issues of a general nature that have arisen with respect to the Convention; 327. Also notes the desire to further improve the efficiency of and effective participation of delegations in the informal consultations concerning the annual General Assembly resolution on oceans and the law of the sea, decides that the period of the informal consultations on that resolution should not exceed a maximum of two weeks in total and that the consultations should be scheduled in such a way that the Division has sufficient time to produce the report referred to in paragraph 324 above, and invites States to submit text proposals for inclusion in the resolution to the Coordinator of the informal consultations at the earliest possible date; 328. Decides to include in the provisional agenda of its seventy-first session the item entitled “Oceans and the law of the sea”. 82nd plenary meeting 23 December 2015 Annex Amendments to annex II to General Assembly resolution 55/7: Trust Fund for the purpose of facilitating the preparation of submissions to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf for developing States, in particular the least developed countries and small island developing States, and compliance with article 76 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea Terms of reference, guidelines and rules 2. Objects and purpose of the Trust Fund In paragraph 9, amend the last sentence to read: “The object of the Fund is to enable developing States, in particular, the least developed coastal countries and small island developing States, to make an initial assessment of their particular case, make appropriate plans for further investigations and data acquisition, to prepare the final submission documents when the necessary data have been acquired, and to meet with the Commission when it is considering their submission upon the Commission’s invitation.” 4. Application for financial assistance In paragraph 16, insert the following subparagraph after subparagraph (d): “(d bis) Air travel and daily subsistence allowance for up to three members of a delegation when the Commission or relevant subcommission has invited that delegation to attend its meeting or session, except in cases where a joint submission of three or more States is being considered, for which a maximum of six members total of such a joint delegation may receive assistance;” 52/53
