A/RES/52/134 Page 2 1. Welcomes the statement made by the Chairman of the Commission on Human Rights at its 70th meeting of its fifty-third session, on 18 April 1997;3 2. Calls upon Member States, intergovernmental organizations and the specialized agencies to continue to carry out constructive dialogue and consultations for the enhancement of understanding and the promotion and protection of all human rights and fundamental freedoms, and encourages non-governmental organizations to contribute actively to this endeavour; 3. Notes with appreciation that the Commission on Human Rights will keep under review the matter to which the Chairman’s statement refers; 4.
