Takes note of the report of the Secretary-General; 49 2. Requests the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Commission on the Status of Women at its fifty-eighth session on the situation of women, the girl child and HIV and AIDS, with an emphasis on accelerated actions taken in regard to women, the girl child and HIV and AIDS, in accordance with the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action,21 the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development,26 the 2006 and 2011 Political Declarations on HIV/AIDS45 and the 2011 Commitments on HIV/AIDS,46 using information provided by Member States and the United Nations system.
