- Bearing in mind that corporations must abide by national legislation, we encourage corporate social responsibility so that it contributes to social development goals and the well-being of children, inter alia, by: 1. Promoting increased corporate awareness of the interrelationship between social development and economic growth. 2. Providing a legal, economic and social policy framework that is just and stable to support and stimulate private sector initiatives aimed at achieving these goals. 3. Enhancing partnerships with business, trade unions and civil society at the national level in support of the goals of the Plan of Action.
