A/RES/57/175 5. Urges the Institute to intensify its fund-raising efforts and to diversify its funding sources to include private foundations and inter-agency and interinstitutional collaborations, among others; 6. Stresses the critical importance of voluntary financial contributions by Member States to the United Nations Trust Fund for the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women to enable it to carry out its mandate; 7. Urges Member States to make voluntary contributions to the Trust Fund, particularly during the critical transitional period; 8. Requests the Working Group to submit a preliminary report on the follow-up to the implementation of the measures referred to in paragraph 2 above to the Commission on the Status of Women at its forty-seventh session, and to submit its final report thereon to the General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session; 9. Requests the Secretary-General: (a) To appoint, without delay, and in consultation with the Working Group, a Director to be chosen from among candidates who demonstrate knowledge and expertise in, inter alia, gender issues and social research; (b) To report to the General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session on the implementation of the present resolution. 77th plenary meeting 18 December 2002 2
