facilitating the entry into force of the Convention and the Protocols thereto and their
future implementation;

Encourages Member States to make adequate voluntary contributions to
the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Fund for the provision to
developing countries and countries with economies in transition of the technical
assistance they may require for implementation of the Convention and the Protocols
thereto, including assistance for the preparatory measures needed for that
implementation, taking into account article 30 of the Convention;

Requests the Secretary-General to provide the Centre for International
Crime Prevention of the Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention of the
Secretariat with the resources necessary to enable it to promote, in an effective
manner, the entry into force and implementation of the Convention and the
Protocols thereto, inter alia, through the provision of assistance to developing
countries and countries with economies in transition for building capacity in the
areas covered by the Convention and the Protocols thereto;
5.
Also requests the Secretary-General to submit a report on the
implementation of the present resolution to the Commission on Crime Prevention
and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session.
