It sets out her vision and approach to the mandate and the thematic priorities for her next reports and provides a summary of the applicable international legal framework. The Special Rapporteur was appointed in July 2022 in accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 43/20 and assumed her functions on 1 August 2022.
