53/222. Financing of the United Nations Support Mission in Haiti, the United Nations
Transition Mission in Haiti and the United Nations Civilian Police Mission
in Haiti
The General Assembly,
Having considered the report of the Secretary-General on the financing of the United Nations Support
Mission in Haiti, the United Nations Transition Mission in Haiti and the United Nations Civilian Police Mission
in Haiti1 and the related report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions,2
Bearing in mind Security Council resolutions 1063 (1996) of 28 June 1996, by which the Council
established the United Nations Support Mission in Haiti, and 1086 (1996) of 5 December 1996, by which the
Council extended the mandate of the Mission until 31 July 1997,
Bearing in mind also Security Council resolution 1123 (1997) of 30 July 1997, by which the Council
established the United Nations Transition Mission in Haiti for a single four-month period,
Bearing in mind further Security Council resolutions 1141 (1997) of 28 November 1997, by which the
Council established the United Nations Civilian Police Mission in Haiti, and 1212 (1998) of 25 November 1998,
by which the Council extended the mandate of the Mission until 30 November 1999,
