Implementation of the International Decade for People of
African Descent: draft programme of activities
The Human Rights Council,
Recalling General Assembly resolution 68/237 of 23 December 2013, by which the
Assembly proclaimed the International Decade for People of African Descent, commencing
on 1 January 2015 and ending on 31 December 2024,
Recalling also its resolution 25/33 on the proclamation of the International Decade
for People of African Descent and the work undertaken in that regard by the
Intergovernmental Working Group on the Effective Implementation of the Durban
Declaration and Programme of Action,
Bearing in mind the deadline of 30 June 2014 set by the General Assembly for the
consideration and subsequent adoption of the draft programme of activities,

Decides to urgently transmit to the General Assembly, through the offices of
the President of the General Assembly and his facilitator, the report of the
Intergovernmental Working Group on the Effective Implementation of the Durban
Declaration and Programme of Action containing the draft programme of activities in its
current form;1
