A/HRC/RES/15/14 United Nations General Assembly Distr.: General 6 October 2010 Original: English Human Rights Council Fifteenth session Agenda item 3 Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development Resolution adopted by the Human Rights Council* 15/14 Human rights and indigenous peoples: mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples The Human Rights Council, Bearing in mind paragraph 6 of General Assembly resolution 60/251 of 15 March 2006, Recalling resolution 5/1 entitled “Institution-building of the United Nations Human Rights Council” and resolution 5/2 entitled “Code of Conduct for Special Procedures Mandate-holders of the Human Rights Council”, of 18 June 2007, and stressing that the mandate holder shall discharge his/her duties in accordance with these resolutions and the annexes thereto, Recalling also Commission on Human Rights resolutions 2001/57 of 24 April 2001, 2002/65 of 25 April 2002, 2003/56 of 24 April 2003, 2004/62 of 21 April 2004 and 2005/51 of 20 April 2005 entitled “Human rights and indigenous issues”, and Council resolution 6/12 of 28 September 2007 entitled “Human rights and indigenous peoples: mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people”, Recalling further the adoption of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which addresses the rights of indigenous peoples, * GE.10-16670 The resolutions and decisions adopted by the Human Rights Council will be contained in the report of the Council on its fifteenth session (A/HRC/15/60), chap.
