- Measures should be adopted in the field of education aimed at encouraging knowledge of the history, culture and traditions of "racial or ethnical" groups present in the State party, including indigenous peoples and persons of African descent. Educational materials should, in the interests of promoting mutual respect and understanding, endeavour to highlight the contribution of all groups to the social, economic and cultural enrichment of the national identity and to national, economic and social progress.
