The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change defines climate change as "any change in the climate over time, whether due to natural variability or […] human activity". The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, however, specifically focuses on changes in the climate which are "attributed directly or indirectly to human activity" and are "in addition to natural climate variability".
