- The Working Group reaffirms that the slave trade and slavery are crimes against humanity and should always have been so, especially the transatlantic slave trade (Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, paragraph 13). The Working Group recognizes that reparation for the transatlantic slave trade and slavery is a human rights issue that must be addressed adequately.
