Welcomes the adoption by the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) of the New Urban Agenda, 6 which, taking into account that the majority of road traffic deaths and injuries take place in urban areas, gives appropriate consideration to road safety and access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable public transport and non-motorized modes of transport, paying special attention to the needs of those in vulnerable situations, women, children, persons with disabilities and older persons;
