Expresses deep concern about the rising levels of non-communicable diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and their risk factors, especially tobacco smoking and alcohol consumption, as well as childhood obesity, and their impacts on the health of children and adolescents, and recognizes the need to strengthen health and social support systems, including by providing child-centred care taking into account that children are the cornerstone of a whole-of-life approach to primary prevention and risk factor management, as well as to adopt multisectoral approaches to address the issue;
