A/RES/69/147 Intensification of efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls on the Rights of the Child8 and the Optional Protocols thereto,9 the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 10 and other international human rights instruments, such as the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families,11 and that its elimination is a cross-cutting issue and an integral part of efforts towards the elimination of all forms of violence against women, Recalling the rules of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions of 194912 and the Additional Protocols thereto of 1977,13 Reaffirming the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, 14 the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, 15 the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action 16 and the outcome documents of its review conferences and the outcome of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly entitled “Women 2000: gender equality, development and peace for the twenty-first century”,17 Reaffirming also the declarations adopted at the forty-ninth18 and fifty-fourth19 sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women and the agreed conclusions on the priority theme “Elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls” adopted at its fifty-seventh session,20 and welcoming the attention given to the elimination of violence against women and girls in the agreed conclusions of the Commission at its fifty-eighth session on the challenges and achievements in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals for women and girls,21 Reaffirming further the international commitments in the field of social development regarding gender equality and the advancement of women made at the World Conference on Human Rights, the International Conference on Population and Development and in the key actions for the further implementation of its Programme of Action, at the World Summit for Social Development and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance and in the outcome document of the high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly known as the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, adopted on 22 September 2014,22 as well as those made in the United Nations Millennium _______________ 8 Ibid., vol. 1577, No. 27531.
