62/8. Overview of United Nations activities relating to climate
change
The General Assembly,
Recalling the 2005 World Summit Outcome, 1
Recalling also the views expressed by Member States during the general
debate of the General Assembly at its sixty-second session on the suggested
thematic issue “Responding to climate change”, the Secretary-General’s high-level
event on climate change on 24 September 2007 and the informal thematic debate at
its sixty-first session on “Climate change as a global challenge”,
Requests the Secretary-General, in this context, to submit, by 25 January 2008,
a comprehensive report providing an overview of the activities of the United
Nations system in relation to climate change.
