Solidarity with and support for the Government and people of
Pakistan and strengthening of emergency relief, rehabilitation,
reconstruction and prevention in the wake of the recent
devastating floods
The General Assembly,
Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations,
Reaffirming its resolution 46/182 of 19 December 1991, the annex to which
contains the guiding principles for the strengthening of the coordination of emergency
humanitarian assistance of the United Nations system, as well as all its resolutions on
international cooperation on humanitarian assistance in the field of natural disasters,
from relief to development, and recalling the resolutions of the humanitarian
segments of the sessions of the Economic and Social Council,
Recalling the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, 1 the Addis Ababa
Action Agenda of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, 2
the Paris Agreement 3 and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction
2015 – 2030, 4
Reaffirming the principles of humanity, neutrality,
independence for the provision of humanitarian assistance,
