56/264. Review of the problem of human immunodeficiency
virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome in all
its aspects
The General Assembly,
Recalling its resolution 55/13 of 3 November 2000, entitled “Review of the
problem of human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome
in all its aspects”, in particular paragraph 19 thereof,
Recalling also its resolution S-26/2 of 27 June 2001, entitled “Declaration of
Commitment on HIV/AIDS”, adopted at its twenty-sixth special session, held in
New York from 25 to 27 June, in particular paragraph 100 thereof,
1.
Requests the Secretary-General to prepare a report on progress achieved
in realizing the commitments set out in the Declaration of Commitment on
HIV/AIDS, with a view to identifying problems and constraints and making
recommendations on action needed to make further progress;
2.
Also requests the Secretary-General to submit his report to the General
Assembly at its fifty-seventh session;
3.
Decides to include in the provisional agenda of its fifty-seventh session
an item entitled “Follow-up to the outcome of the twenty-sixth special session:
implementation of the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS”.
