54/260. Financing of the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic
Republic of the Congo

The General Assembly,
Having considered the report of the Secretary-General on the financing of the United Nations
Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo1 and the related oral report of the Advisory
Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions,2
Bearing in mind Security Council resolution 1291 (2000) of 24 February 2000 concerning the extension
of the mandate of the Mission,
1. Notes that, by 30 June 2000, only 500 United Nations military observers and 100 civilian support
staff out of up to 5,537 military personnel, including up to 500 military observers, as indicated by the
Secretary-General in his report,1 will have been deployed to the United Nations Organization Mission in the
Democratic Republic of the Congo;
