54/237. Scale of assessments for the apportionment of the expenses of the
United Nations

The General Assembly,
Recalling its resolutions 54/1, 54/2 and 54/3 of 14 September 1999,
Recalling also the recommendations of the Committee on Contributions with respect to the assessment
of the Republic of Kiribati, the Republic of Nauru and the Kingdom of Tonga as non-member States,1
Recalling further its resolutions 52/215 A of 22 December 1997 and 53/36 E of 18 December 1998 and
its decision 47/456 of 23 December 1992,
1. Decides that the rate of assessment for the Republic of Kiribati, the Republic of Nauru and the
Kingdom of Tonga, admitted to membership of the United Nations on 14 September 1999, should be
0.001 per cent for the years 1999 and 2000;
2. Also decides that the contributions of the Republic of Kiribati, the Republic of Nauru and the
Kingdom of Tonga for the year 1999 should be calculated on the basis of one twelfth of their rate of
assessment for the year 1999 per full calendar month of membership and that a corresponding adjustment
should be made in their assessments for the year 1999 as non-member States;
