Follow-up to the Fourth World Conference on Women and to
the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly,

Agreed conclusions
1.
The Commission on the Status of Women reaffirms the Beijing Declaration and
Platform for Action, 1 the outcome documents of the twenty-third special session of
the General Assembly 2 and the declarations adopted by the Commission on the
occasion of the tenth, fifteenth, twentieth and twenty-fifth anniversaries of the Fourth
World Conference on Women, and stresses the need to further strengthen their
implementation.
2.
The Commission reiterates that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 3
the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women 4
and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, 5 and the Optional Protocols thereto, 6
as well as other relevant conventions and treaties, such as the International Covenant
