Fourth World Conference on Women
The General Assembly,
Noting with satisfaction the successful conclusion of the Fourth World
Conference on Women, held at Beijing from 4 to 15 September 1995, which
culminated in the adoption of the Beijing Declaration 1/ and the Platform
for Action, 2/ aimed at accelerating the implementation of the Nairobi
Forward-looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women 3/ to the year 2000,

Expresses its profound gratitude to the Government of the People’s
Republic of China for having made it possible for the Fourth World Conference
on Women to be held at Beijing and for the excellent facilities, staff and
services so graciously placed at the disposal of the Conference;
