56/288. Conference and support services extended to the CounterTerrorism Committee in implementation of Security
Council resolution 1373 (2001)
The General Assembly,
Recalling Security Council resolution 1373 (2001) of 28 September 2001,
Reaffirming General Assembly resolutions 41/213 of 19 December 1986 and
42/211 of 21 December 1987,
Reaffirming also its resolutions 55/232 of 23 December 2000 and 56/242 and
56/253 of 24 December 2001,
Having considered the report of the Secretary-General on conference and
support services extended to the Counter-Terrorism Committee in implementation of
Security Council resolution 1373 (2001) 1 and the related report of the Advisory
Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions,2

Takes note of the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative
and Budgetary Questions; 2
2.
Requests the Secretary-General to ensure the provision of conference and
support services to the Counter-Terrorism Committee, without adversely affecting
other conference services;
3.
Invites the Security Council to ensure that the proceedings of the
Counter-Terrorism Committee and other subsidiary bodies of the Council that
require conference servicing are conducted with due regard to the most efficient use
of conference-servicing resources;
4.
Also invites the Security Council to consider the merits of establishing
appropriate guidelines for, inter alia, the format and, to the extent feasible and
acceptable, the volume of communications that all States are requested to submit for
consideration by the Counter-Terrorism Committee;
