Mental health and psychosocial support The General Assembly, Reaffirming its resolution 70/1 of 25 September 2015, entitled “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, which includes targets relating to non-communicable diseases, including reducing by one third prematur e mortality from non-communicable diseases by 2030 through prevention and treatment, and promoting mental health and well-being, as well as support for research and development of vaccines and medicines, and reaffirming the Addis Ababa Action Agenda of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, 1 Reaffirming also the Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 3, on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages, and its specific and interlinked targets, in particular target 3.4, which, among other things, promotes mental health and well-being, Reaffirming further the political declaration of the high-level meeting on universal health coverage, entitled “Universal health coverage: moving together to build a healthier world”, adopted on 23 September 2019, 2 which recognizes mental health and well-being as an essential component of universal health coverage, Reaffirming the political declaration of the third high-level meeting on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, adopted on 27 September 2018, 3 which represents a review of the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of existing commitments for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and the promotion of mental healt h, which constitute a __________________ 1 2 3 23-12694 (E) Resolution 69/313, annex.
