Countering disinformation for the promotion and protection of
human rights and fundamental freedoms
The General Assembly,
Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations,
Reaffirming the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1 the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, 2 the International Covenant on Economic,
Social and Cultural Rights, 3 the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of
Discrimination against Women, 4 the Convention on the Rights of the Child, 5 the
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, 6 the International Convention
on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination 7 and all other relevant
international human rights instruments, including the Vienna Declaration and
Programme of Action, 8
Recalling the universality, indivisibility, interdependence and interrelatedness
of all human rights and fundamental freedoms,
Recalling also its resolutions 75/176 of 16 December 2020, 75/267 of 25 March
2021 and 75/309 of 21 July 2021,
