- Recognizes that unremunerated work, including unpaid care and domestic work, plays an essential role in improving well-being in the household and in the functioning of the economy as a whole, and acknowledging the need to recognize and consider, where appropriate, policies and programmes that would contribute to reducing the unequal burden of unremunerated work, including unpaid care and domestic work, for which women and girls continue to carry a disproportionately high level of responsibility, and to promote shared responsibility within the household;
