ending abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of
children,
Recalling Economic and Social Council resolution 2015/23 of 21 July 2015 on the
implementation of the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in
Persons,
Recalling also Human Rights Council resolutions 5/1, on institution-building of the
Council, and 5/2, on the Code of Conduct for Special Procedures Mandate Holders of the
Council, of 18 June 2007,
1.
Welcomes the work of the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons,
especially women and children, in the promotion of the global fight against trafficking in
persons;
2.
Takes note with appreciation of the thematic report of the Special Rapporteur
on strengthening voluntary standards for businesses on preventing and combating
trafficking in persons and labour exploitation, especially in supply chains,2 and her thematic
reports on trafficking in persons in conflict and post-conflict situations;3
3.
Decides to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in
persons, especially women and children, for a period of three years;
4.
Urges all Governments to cooperate fully with the Special Rapporteur and to
respond favourably to her requests to visit their countries, to provide her with all necessary
information related to the mandate and to react promptly to her communications and urgent
appeals in order to enable her to fulfil the mandate effectively;
5.
Underlines the importance that the Special Rapporteur continue to participate
in relevant international forums and events on migration with a view to combating
trafficking and upholding the human rights of victims of trafficking in persons, especially
women and children;
6.
Requests the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to ensure
that the Special Rapporteur receives the resources necessary to enable her to discharge the
mandate fully;
7.
Decides to continue consideration of the issue of trafficking in persons,
especially women and children.
