Financing of the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force The General Assembly, Having considered the report of the Secretary-General on the financing of the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force1 and the related reports of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions,2 Recalling Security Council resolutions 983 (1995) of 31 March 1995, by which the Council decided that the United Nations Protection Force within the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia should be known as the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force, and 1186 (1998) of 21 July 1998, by which the Council extended the mandate of the Force until 28 February 1999, Recalling also its decision 50/481 of 11 April 1996 on the financing of the Force and its subsequent resolutions thereon, the latest of which was resolution 53/20 B of 8 June 1999, Reaffirming that the costs of the Force are expenses of the Organization to be borne by Member States in accordance with Article 17, paragraph 2, of the Charter of the United Nations, 1 A/54/740. 2 A/54/824 and A/54/841. 00 55322 /...
